So, I just went to see Madagascar, the Dreamworks movie, at the student theater. It was worth the $1.50, but that's it, I think. Too much of the humor was cheap slapstick, and not enough of it was in the dialogue. It had its moments... "Behold! The New York giants!" for one, but that was in the commercial, and then the penguins in Antarctica going "Well... this sucks." Oh, and the whole hallucinogenic tranquilizer sequence (and its second iteration) were great, too. However, there were vast tracts of nothing funny going on between those high points. Also, I noticed, possibly because my sister pointed it out in her own LJ, but more likely just from my own sense of it, and my comma grammar is atrocious, there was a lot of extremely unrealistic behavior toward the beginning. Pyrotechnics? In a ZOO? That's just rediculous! Granted, it's a cartoon, but please. Feasibility check on aisle 9.

I agree on the penguins. Also agree on pyrotechnics. And please tell me that the lemur king really got on your nerves. It did mine.

Oh great...the neighbors are smokin' again.

I kind've liked him, actually. So long as someone was outside of the main cast, they were generally funny.
